Akhal-Teke

The Akhal-Teke, (pronounced [ahalˈtеkje]), is a horse breed from Turkmenistan, where they are a national emblem. They are noted for their speed and for endurance on long marches. These "golden-horses" are adapted to severe climatic conditions and are thought to be one of the oldest surviving horse breeds. There are currently about 3,500 Akhal-Tekes in the world. The Akhal-Teke's most notable and defining characteristic is the natural metallic bloom of its coat.
Akhal-Teke Ranch

At the Akhal-Teke Ranch, we breed pure bred Akhal-Teke horses of several blood lines. We feel privileged that we can play a small part in the effort to preserve this unique ancient breed of horses, and in doing so we also enjoy what many monarchs were denied: Akhal-Teke's unique personality, unsurpassed athletic ability, fluid gait, strong devotion to their people, and incredible beauty and affection.

Sweet Water Farm

Our farm is about 23 acres, and the horses are outside year round. I try to raise the horses as naturally as possible, and only use organic and natural products. My goal is to breed Akhal Teke's as true to type as possible. "We specialize in 3 day eventing, and give clinics and lessons"

Cascade Gold Akhal-Tekes

I am having a spring sale on my young geldings, with the idea of letting someone else do a lot of the hard work necessary to get a young horse ready to compete (although Tekes sure seem to take less than most horses!), so take a look at these very nice youngsters on our sale page.
