Llamas

The llama is a South American camelid, widely used as a pack and meat animal by Andean cultures since pre-hispanic times.   Llamas are very social animals and like to live with other llamas as a herd. Overall, the fiber produced by a llama is very soft and is naturally lanolin free. Llamas are intelligent and can learn simple tasks after a few repetitions. When using a pack, llamas can carry about 25% to 30% of their body weight for several miles.
East Fork Ranch

We offer for sale llamas for many uses (and prices), from pack trained males and family companions to premium fiber, show, and breeding stock. Our breeding program is known for the lustrous suri type fiber we produce. In addition, we have always maintained llamas with an elegant but strong & correct frame, and with an eye for beauty and style. We envision a llama as a functional work of art; with a frame capable of packing and a fleece destined for exquisite garments. We prove our stock in the show ring and in fleece contests.

Cabernet Creek Farms

Most of our herd has the rare silky fiber - easy to clean, great to spin and with luster, uniformity and low micron counts. All of our llamas have outstanding dispositions and are "Mallonized" at birth, making them very easy to handle. Bred female and youngsters are available for sale. In addition, only our very best males are left intact and sold as herd sires. Since all of our llamas run with goats, they are a natural for guard animals

Frog Pond Llamas

This is a new and innovative idea for our farm. Frog Pond Llamas and Suri Alpacas is offering a way for small and/or new breeders to get a step up above the rest by taking advantage of Frog Pond's years of experience and success. It's never easy starting up a new business but it doesn't have to be difficult anymore. Frog Pond has been blessed to have had, what I consider to be the greatest individuals in our industry as mentors over the years and this is one way that I feel I can give back and continue on the knowledge of years and years of camelid breeding experience that has been passed down to me. Contact me to learn what the partnership program is all about.
