Icelandic

The Icelandic sheep is one of the world's oldest and purest breeds of sheep. Icelandics are a mid-sized
breed, conformation is generally short legged and stocky. The face and legs are free of wool. The fleece is dual-coated and
comes in white as well as a range of browns, grays and blacks. There are both horned and polled strains. Left unshorn for
the winter, the breed is very cold hardy.

Our purebred, CLRC- registered Icelandic Sheep joined the ranch in August 2006. We were initially
very attracted to this dual-coated, primitive, unimproved, rare breed of sheep for their conservation value and their multi-purpose
fleece, dairy capabilities, low maintenance requirements, and especially their fantastic ability to thrive on native grasses
and noxious weeds. We breed for natural disease and parasite resistance, so breeding stock you get from us will be hardy
and gentically superior to sheep raised with high amounts of chemical dewormers and unnecessary vaccines. Holly Flowers P.O. Box 1451 Carmen, ID 83462 208 756-1428 Cell 208 940-1520 SIC001

Icelandic Sheep are one of the purest breeds of domestic animal on earth, and also one of the most
functional. They are truly a multi-purpose animal, providing lean, delicately flavored meat, rich, sweet milk, a palette of
naturally colored wool, and stunningly beautiful hides. They come in a horned or polled, both sexes. They are hardly, economical,
long-lived, and strikingly beautiful animals.

We raise Icelandic sheep in many different colors and patterns, with a focus on fleece, conformation,
ewes who consistantly twin, horn set and temperament. We also keep in mind that Icelandic sheep are primarily a meat breed
in Iceland. They produce lovely fleeces for spinners and felters, luxurious pelts and mild, lean meat. We are located 25 miles

These sheep are hardy, beautiful, and versatile. They are usually shorn twice a year, producing a
low grease, double coated fleece, that may be spun as is or separated into the long strong outer 'tog' and the fine soft inner
'thel'. They come in several colors and many patterns and shades, making each fleece unique. Icelandic sheep is known for
it's mild flavored, lean meat, and lambs that can grow to market size on grass alone. They are good milkers, and with good
management can be used as dairy animals while continuing to raise their lambs. Sondra Gibson 466 Treece Gulch Rd Stevensville,

and great dispositions, very friendly. I usually have a waiting list going for these sheep for the meat as it is of a gourmet
quality. Cost a bit more but is worth it. Lisa Whytock Bonners Ferry, ID 208-818-7825 SIC006
