Finns
|
Finnsheep were first imported to north America by the University of Manitoba, Canada in 1966. The breed
is considered to be several hundred years old, descending from the mouflan that live in the wild on Sardinia and Corsica.
Their origin is probably related to their high adaptability to rugged climate and the high roughage feed available.

We raise Finns in a variety of colors including black, brown, white, piebald, blue and gray. We have
lambs for sale nearly year round. But at this point are not selling any ewes or ewe lambs as we are trying to build our herd
to 50 head. Lucile, ID (208) 628-4196

We raise white, black, brown, fawn, gray and pied finns. We keep several different bloodlines so
we can offer unrelated animals for sale. We breed for productivity, milking ability, consistency, fleece
quality, and size. We like the Finn breed due to the docile, friendly nature of both the rams
and the ewes. The lambs are very hardy. Most of our ewes lamb without assistance. We supplement large litters of lambs twice
a day, and leave them on their mother. Dan
