Jacob Sheep have graced the large estates of England for many centuries. Their impressive horns, black
and white faces and spotted bodies have contributed to their popularity and survival. Their actual origins are not known.
However, documentation throughout history indicates that the spotted or pied sheep may have originated in what is now Syria
some three thousand years ago.

Several breeds of sheep can produce spotted lambs but Jacobs are the only breed which remain spotted
for life. Jacob sheep carry the polycerate gene which allows them to produce multiple horns, and both rams and ewe are horned.
They are a small to medium size breed with ewes weighing from 80 to 120 pounds and rams ranging from 120 to 180 lbs. Karen Lobb & Doug Montgomery 19562 NE Calkins Lane Newberg, Oregon 97132 503-538-7987 SJA001

Kenleigh Acres is located in the Willamette Valley in Northwest Oregon. We raise sheep and enjoy
trialling our dogs in different venues. Our dogs are valued family members and they of course love living on the farm. We
have a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, a Border Collie, a Whippet and an old Lab that keeps everybody in line. We have a flock of registered
Jacob sheep - that we raise for breeding stock, wool, unique lawn mowers, and locker lamb. We are always busy here on the

Jacob sheep are one of several multi horned breeds. Both the rams and ewes are horned. Commonly the
horns are seen in even sets of 2 or 4 though uneven sets are also seen some are even polled. Their wool maybe their best asset
to the small scale farms hand spinner's flock. Twining is common as well. They come in three different spot colors, the
Black, the Chocolate and the Lilac gray, all on a snow white background. They are docile and easy to handle never using their
horns. DD Rick and Michelle

We are a small hobby farm raising Jacob sheep for breeding stock, wool, locker lamb and raw dog food.
The Jacob is a spotted sheep which carries the polycerate trait (multiple horns). The Jacobs have retained a more primitive
body shape, are slender boned and provide a flavorful, lean carcass with little external fat. Jacob sheep are very hardy,
lamb easily and have a resistance to parasites and foot problems. The fleece is medium fine with no outer coat, open and soft,
plus is light in grease making it a hand spinners delight! DD Timber Acres Lisa Stirnemann Philomath, OR 541-929-4343 SJA004
