Lowline Angus

Lowline cattle are a small breed of cattle selected by breeders in Australia from black Aberdeen Angus cattle. They are small without having a specific dwarfing gene.  Lowlines may appear to be, but are not, dwarfs. The cattle were specifically selected for these genetic traits. Lowlines are roughly 3 1/2 ft tall and weigh up to 1300 lbs. They are black in colour and naturally polled. They are very docile and are noted for their easy calving ability.
Bitterroot Ranch

Lowline Angus Cattle - we started using registered fullblood Lowline Angus bulls back in 1999. We now have a herd of purebred and percentage Lowlines that we are very pleased with. They are really tough little cows - maturing at about 700-800 lbs., they are easy calvers and great mothers. They don't require a lot of pampering. Truly the cow for the days we are living in. You can produce more pounds of healthy, grass fed beef with these small frame cattle
