Highland cattle are an ancient Scottish breed of beef cattle with long horns and long wavy pelts. Highlands
are known as a hardy breed due to the rugged nature of their native Scottish Highlands, with high rainfall and strong winds.
They both graze and browse and eat plants many other cattle avoid. The meat tends to be leaner than most beef, as Highlands
get most of their insulation from their thick shaggy hair rather than subcutaneous fat. The coat also makes them a good breed
for cold Northern climates.

The cattle are Montana-bred and Montana-raised on natural pasture. Never on feed lots. Humanely treated
in natural surroundings, in winter they eat alfalfa hay grown on the farm. At their mountain summer pasture, they graze on
natural grass hay No additives, especially no animal proteins, are used in their feed. DDD Mike & Pam Mower P.O. Box 8234 Kalispell, MT 59904 406-752-7359 CHI001

We're members of the American Highland Cattle Association (AHCA). Locally, Bob serves as a Northwest
Highland Cattle Association (NWHCA) board member and Gina is the association's webmaster. We produce two to three calves
each year and sell them when they are six months to a year in age. We strive to obtain the highest quality cattle in genetics
and health, placing priority on quality over quantity. Our cattle feed on locally grown grass and as a special treat we occasionally
add grain to their diet.

We researched different breeds of cattle to start our herd and selected the Scottish Highland.
We chose the Highland because of their docile nature, they are easy keepers, generally don't have problems calving, they are
browsers, they have a unique look and most of all the beef is delicious. Kevin and Amy Allen 728 W. Hurley Waldrip Rd. Shelton, WA. 98584 360.480.5327 CHI005
